Zumurrud Middle Eastern Dance presents Beginner Bellydance with Kendra Ray!
Ever wanted to learn the art of Middle Eastern Dance? Bellydance is a dance form designed to enhance balance, coordination, body awareness, and self-acceptance. No matter your age, size, sex, or situation- bellydance is meant for you! Low impact, yet will get your heart pumping and will tone the muscles in your core, hips and back. This is a Judgement Free Zone, where we just have fun, learn and unwind. Please- join the fun!
You'll be learning from Kendra Ray, an international performer from the metro Detroit Area, known for her grace and skill. In this class you will learn proper posture, basic movements and articulations. At the end of the 7 weeks we will put together small combinations for you to learn how each movement can work together to make a choreography. Please come dressed in workout apparel similar to Yoga or any other form of dance. Generally we dance barefoot, or in soft lyrical shoes. Please bring water. Hip belts/ scarves may be worn, if you do not own any there will be some available for sale at class.
Classes will be held
October 7th, October 14th, October 21st, October 28th, November 4th, November 11th, and November 18th.
7 weeks of classes @ $8/ class makes $56 for the whole series.
