A virtual family-friendly progressive class series introducing and exploring the fundamental movements, techniques, and cultural context of Raqs Sharqi a.k.a. Bellydance. Ideal for the beginner student looking to build and expand their dance vocabulary.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It's recommended that students wear form-fitting, non-black clothing so that posture and technique can be assessed virtually through the screen. Tying a scarf or similar cloth around the hips is a traditional element of this dance and is used to add flair and make the movements more visible. Lastly, be sure that students can be seen from head to toe in the camera.
